Our goat operation started as a brush clearing venture roughly 10-12 years ago. Our high desert home location comes with its share of sage brush, rock piles, and native dryland grasses as well as invasive weeds such as tumble mustard, Russian thistle, cheat grass, and whatever else you may find throughout Klamath County. Fire danger being what it is today we try to keep things in check by using goats and a rotational grazing program that keeps our goats fed during the growing months and our home safe. Not only do they reduce our need for herbicides they improve the land for our horses to graze non-irrigated, weed free, dryland. Since our goats are out and about being as they were intended to be we find they need less hoof care and are in better physical shape. They won't look like a show animal ready to butcher, but if you visit, you will find them out and about in their working clothes. Our goats are available to show homes, pet homes, working homes as weed eaters, as well as meat goats.
In more recent years we have been helping to fill a need to make entry to mid level animals available to our youth at a price they can afford. You will often find some decent market wethers offered at prices starting in the $200-250 range. We want to see future generations of farmers and ranchers living the lifestyle we dreamed about as kids and at the very least understanding where food comes from and at what cost. We support compassionate and hard working caretakers, and not necessarily just what the almighty dollar can by. Don't get me wrong there's absolutely a place for those high dollar animals but we want to help kids work their way up to those by offering a special animal they can get started with.
In the last few years our commercial goat program has expanded to ABGA Registered Full Blood and Percentage Boers in addition to our commercial goats. While the traditional Red and White beauties are the hallmark of the breed, our hearts lie with a little COLOR. With the dappled and painted Boers being our main goal as icing on the cake of a quality animal. Most of our babies will still be sold as commercial (non-registered) but if you are interested in papers please don't hesitate to ask. Depending on lineage we may be able to accommodate at the very least, percentage registration with ABGA. Additional fees will apply. If they are already registered it will state as such in their description.
Pictured as a young buck we started breeding this guy in 2023 with kids arriving spring of 24. His kids are beautifully colored as well as built just right. He is the sire of all kids listed unless stated otherwise.
