Available prospects

At Copper Cat Ranch, we have a lot of horses we have raised and sold and are extremely proud of. While Carrie has been raising horses since her childhood alongside her parents at the Rocking 2S Ranch, her first purchase with James was in 2002 at the NRCHA Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity Sale when he urged her to bid just a little bit higher and he would kick in what funds she didn't have to purchase a once in a lifetime mare, Fairlea Good Lookin, a 3 year old by Colonel Pic. The rest is history and a 20+ year journey was embarked upon. You will soon be able to find all of those mares' foals we raised on her tribute page but I will leave you with a photo of her highest NCHA Money Earner, Smart N Good Lookin $51,000+. 

A few years later we returned to the same Sale and purchased Wimpy Tucker, a very neat daughter of Doc Tom Tucker, with a Dealin Dirty foal by her side. We sold that foal and with part of the proceeds purchased James a wedding band. 

While Carrie is generally in charge of the horse part of our operation, you will find James building fence, helping with foals, and doing his best to keep things running while working a full time job at Oregon Department of Transportation as an Incident Responder.

I won't bore you with all the details in the makings of Copper Cat Ranch but you can get an idea of where we came from and where we are headed. Since I designed this website in 2024 you will only find horses for sale that year and beyond on our prospects page. So not to worry, we have been doing this for A VERY LONG TIME and are here to stay. We hope you will find confidence in purchasing a young prospect from us knowing that a whole lot of thought and gained knowledge went into creating that individual and not to sound cliche but yes... blood, sweat, and tears, no doubt.
